Sims 4 Base Game Hair Retexture

This week, EA published another post on September 23 explaining its plans for The Sims 4. The upcoming update will be arriving on October 6 for PC and Mac, and November 10 for consoles. It'll be available as a base game update and looks to be "improving the blotchy artifacts and ashy appearance of darker skin tones on mid and high spec machines." Additionally, in October, the game will also see updates to two of the base game hairstyles as a way to "improve the representation of hairstyles in our base game".

The blog post also states that in December, there will be "at least" a hundred new skin tone swatches being added to The Sims 4 in "cool, neutral, and warm tones with a particular emphasis on darker skin tones." These will come with a slider on all available swatches to modify them to the players liking. Sliders are also going to be applied to makeup in the Create-A-Sim mode. The December update will also feature another 2 improved base game hairstyles.

There are a total of 24 hair colors in the Sims 4. The original shipping of the game included 18, but an update in May of 2021 added 6 new ones, (Neutral Black, Warm Brown, Light Brown, Neutral Blonde, Light Blonde, and White Blonde).

The Combined Hairstyles Collection mod adds 39 new female hairstyles to the game, which quench the thirst of most players and enable female characters to look a bit more feminine (and depending on the style, some look more cartoonish as well).

This hair model classifies light paths based on the number of internal reflections.Light paths are named after their event type. The first three light paths are R,TT, and TRT, where R indicates a reflection and T a transmission event.

This parameter sets the longitudinal roughness of the reflection along the hairfiber. At 0.0, reflection becomes sharp and bright, while at 1.0, a deviationbased on specular_reflection_shift in degrees, for a very rough reflection.

BONUS: i made a ribbon overlay for the duha hair in the historian palette. it also works with the cottage living hair and presumably any hair based off that texture. preview is under the cutribbon overlay @ sfs 2ff7e9595c
